Get involved
Three levels of commitment, from "I'll read an email" to "I'll bring the name tags." All of them count.
Come to something
The easiest way in. Happy hour is every second Monday, 6pm onward, upstairs at Dupont Italian Kitchen. Look for the name tags. See what’s coming up.

Civic 101
Local government is where the decisions that actually touch your block get made. Here's the two-minute version.
Your ANC is 2B
Advisory Neighborhood Commission 2B covers Dupont Circle. Commissioners are unpaid neighbors elected to two-year terms, and the city gives their votes "great weight" on liquor licenses, zoning, street changes and more.
ANC 2B websiteMeetings are monthly
ANC 2B holds its regular public meeting on the third Wednesday of the month. Anyone can attend and speak. Agendas are posted in advance on the ANC site.
Agendas & minutesYou're in Ward 2
Dupont Circle sits in Ward 2, which has one Councilmember on the DC Council. The Council sets the budget and passes the laws the ANCs weigh in on.
DC CouncilVote on November 3
The general election is Tuesday, November 3, 2026, and every ANC seat, including 2B's, is on the ballot. Check your registration, find your district, and see what else is on your ballot.
